Newport News
A restaurant in Newport News and was very successful at showcasing local art. http://www.cowboysyds.com/ He is still mentioned on this website..he sold this and is opening a new one The Stove.

Art House in Ocean Springs was one of the few remaining galleries and has a really good group of artists there. Also Bay St. Louis 220 Main has formed a co-op. Mary Bennett of Magnolia Framing and Art Gallery in Gautier has purchased Whistle Stop in Ocean Springs. Here's a note from Mary...she needs some artists!

We will be buying "The Whistle Stop" frame shop in Ocean Springs within the next few weeks. Mr. White & his wife have decided to retire. We will be using the Whistle Stop as a gallery & design shop, all of the framing will be done in our main location in Gautier.

We are very excited about this as we have been looking for a location in Ocean Springs or Biloxi since the storm. As always we are looking for local artists, sculptors, etc that we can show and sell their works. My husband, sons & I believe so much in the local talent! We are proud of each of the artist who already hang in our gallery.

After we come back from market my husband will get busy on our website to showcase the artist who have prints to sell, also their originals. Check out our website and look at the talent we have so far. 2 more artist coming soon! Bob Walters & Ching Walters.

Also take a look at some of the things we have framed under our framed examples - we like to be different!

Biloxi Area
3/22 All Wrapped Up
Julie Tarranto owner of All Wrapped Up at 3586 Sangani Blvd, D'Iberville. Located in shopping center across from Walmart. She has a precious store and is looking for a few more local artist's work to carry in her store. Good high traffic location. 396-3677 I saw the neatest thing at Julie's store she had a poem framed with a little fluer dis lis finding glued to it. The poem was about Katrina and I think from the New Orleans area ...but it gave me the idea that possibly I need to frame up some of my poetry for sale. I hate that nobody from MS has done this yet.

Boomtown Buyers
Val stopped into Boomtown to see new room they added and while I was there I asked who did the buying for their gift shop. Sandra Kirke and Betty Ramey.
Contact Betty Ramey at Boomtown Buyers for Boomtown Casino in Biloxi - I don't have a phone number - sorry!

I would highly recommend before sending physical photos that you ask if that would be ok. She is very interested in having some local items. They have a very small shop and items like cards, jewelry, purses, scarves, candles, soap or anything that is easy to reproduce. If you are a photographer perhaps you have small postcards or magnets or inexpensive prints. Take into account they have a western theme and are located in Biloxi. Photos of Biloxi landmarks are going to be what they want versus other areas.

Maritime Museum
Robin David is in charge at this museum and while it is not an art museum ..it served as a place to display local artworks done by the descendants of boat builders and shrimpers. Had lots of very coastal artworks and pottery etc... and of course they are gone as well. They are still trying to get rebuilt or figure something out.
